Heart of a Husky

Ashe County Schools has once again teamed up with Ashe Memorial Hospital to expand and continue our health heart initiative, Heart of the Husky.  Our goal is to screen as many rising middle and high school student athletes (this includes all athletes that will be in middle school next year) as possible on Friday, May 19th from 6pm till 8pm.  By clicking the links below you can download more information and the required paperwork.  To reserve a time slot you must downolad and fill out the paperwork below then turn it into the your school ASAP since there is a limited number of time slots offered.  Elementary students (current 6th grades who will be participating in athletics at the middle school next year)
are to turn in your paperwork to your school's secretary, middle school students must turn in your paperwork to Mitchell Mash, and high students are to turn in your paperwork to Marc Payne.  The only way for a student to receive a time slot is to turn in your completed paperwork to the appropriate person at your school.

Rolando O. has been selected by Mrs. Jennifer Phipps for A.C.H.S. Student of the Month for April.  Rolando has taken numerous classes instructed by Mrs. Phipps as well as other courses within C.T.E.  Currently Rolando is enrolled in Personal Finance with Mrs. Phipps, where he was part of a project to write books for second grade students dealing with financial concepts.  Rolando and his classmates traveled over to Mountain View Elementary where they read their books to students and left them with a copy.  Rolando is a great student that works hard.  He plans to go into the construction trade or further his soccer career.  Thank you to Rick Woodie, Parker Tie, and DeWalt for this wonderful opportunity for our students at Ashe County High School.
