High School Students interested in pursuing a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) degree program. BLUE (Bucs Live University Experience) WEEKEND will introduce students to the many degree programs offered at ETSU while also providing them an opportunity to experience the ETSU campus. During the immersion weekend, students will be paired with a near-peer mentor who is a current STEM major. Program participants will spend time with their mentors who serve as campus guides during many of the campus student activities that weekend.
Students at BLUE WEEKEND will:
Participate in an interactive campus tour to learn more about the professors, degree programs and facilities that promote STEM degrees and careers
Attend mini-presentations by ETSU offices and programs that support these academic areas and offer additional opportunities to students
Experience campus life with activities and events that will give them an idea of what it means to be actively engaged in college life
Engage in the Open House activities included in this weekend experience
The BLUE WEEKEND schedule is below and the application process is available online at: http://www.etsu.edu/advisement. As you will see, we have a full schedule of fun and informational activities to show them there is more to college than a classroom, and also to highlight the many opportunities ETSU can provide STEM students. All meals and activities will be provided free! Check in for this weekend begins on Friday at 5:00 pm. For students traveling from a farther distance, an early dismissal from school may be necessary.
