Attention rising freshmen


Information for new and returning students

The below information does not pertain to new 9th graders who attended Ashe Middle for 8th grade
 
1. Pick up enrollment packet at the HS office. 
 
2.Parents/guardians please sure to sign the yellow release paper so we can officially request records from student's former school.
 
Leave your phone number so you can be contacted when records arrive.
 
The following are dates the registrar has reserved for meetings. 8/7, 8/8,8/9,8/10. July meetings are possible on a case by case basis.
All meetings are by appointment.
 
3. Bring completed paperwork to your meeting.

Ashe County High School summer hours are 8am-4pm Monday -Thursday.
 
We look forward to meeting you and introducing students and families to our Husky Community.
Summer Hours

Starting the week of June 12th, Ashe County High School be begin our summer hours of Monday through Thursday from 8am to 4pm.  We will not be open on Fridays during the summer months.

Summer Reading Program

Any student enrolled in an Honors English class for the 2017-2018 school year must complete required reading over the summer. Please refer to the summer reading website and/or letter for more information.

North Carolina Driving School

Students must be at least 14 ½ years old, and enrolled in a public, private, or home school.  It is very important for students to sign up shortly after they reach 14 ½  years of age.  They use the first come, first served method of selecting the oldest student applicants to participate in the classroom and behind-the-wheel instructions.  

The Driver Education course consists of 30 classroom hours, as well as 6 hours of behind the wheel instructions.  Saturday an summer classes are held from 7:45am until 2:30pm for 5 sessions with no make-up time allowed.  After school classes are from 3:30pm to 6:30pm.
